Pivot to Affiliate Income Streams

I thought deeply after yesterday’s post about exploring options for turning AI into income. Each option presented there required service delivery, and fulfillment is incredibly time-consuming. So much so that I realized that I must first focus on building operationally passive income streams centered around integration, automation, and intelligence (IAI).

After years of exploration, I know that affiliate marketing has tremendous potential in this area, but I also know that the best execution is related to things I’m already working on. Like selecting courses in college, the best electives are those that also contribute to your degree requirements.

With that in mind, I am pausing the operationally intensive businesses that were contemplated in favor of something that can be more automated from the start.

I love writing, so I don’t anticipate this blog going anywhere.

I love real estate, so I can see that being a big part of what I focus on.

I love user experience, so I will weave that into my plan.

Overall, these align to focus my energy on a commercial real estate user-experience website. I am still developing the concept, but I can pull multiple levers to make this something remarkable for users while also generating income for myself.

This is a good example of how starting with the solution can create or reveal new problems in the future. In this case, I started with a concept about building an RPO. I still love the RPO idea, but I don’t have the time to make it happen. If I started with the problem, I would have identified my constraints much earlier.

Like many working parents, my constraints are hard and fast.

I value time with my family and try to squeeze as much side hustle in the cracks in my day. It’s easy to do this when your primary product is information gathering and consolidation. It’s much more difficult when you need to block out time for deep research, product development, and customer communication.

To that end, I see strategies such as affiliate marketing and dropshipping as clear standouts.

While the world doesn’t need another course or guru, there’s a natural evolution from the more passive operation to active involvement in a community setting. The key for me will be how to make that transition without too much cringe and in a way that makes the business sellable.

When all is said and done, the quicker I can lock in a decision, the better. That’s where real growth begins.
