Strive to be User Friendly

Save your Excel file the way you want the end user to see it when they open it.

***

Reduce email clutter when scheduling a meeting. Give two times that work for you. Close by asking the recipient to send a calendar invite for the one that works for them.

***

Medium is a big part of the message. From least to most urgent:

  1. First Class postal mail
  2. Social media post
  3. Social media direct message
  4. Priority postal mail
  5. Email
  6. Teams/Slack
  7. SMS
  8. Phone call
  9. In-person

Note: urgency does not imply importance.

Technical ability gets you a seat at the table, but the ability to tell the story well moves you to the head of the table.

Design is 90% of the value in your deliverable. The numbers are what they are. Your interpretation and how you deliver them define your professional brand.
